The Centre

(Accredited by the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Australia - STAA)

The Zen Renaissance Healing Centre is modelled on the life education principles of the Japanese Do-jo. It is a centre for healing, learning, support and the greater expression of our human potential. To this purpose the Centre embraces an holistic approach to both Eastern and Western philosophies through a broad range of proven therapies and disciplines in its Clinic, College and ongoing classes.

Zen Shiatsu Wholistic Therapy

Zen Shiatsu therapy is a highly evolved healing technique developed by the Japanese Master, Shizuto Masunaga. It is remarkable for its simplicity, thoroughness and results, together with its powerful insights into the domain of holistic health. Zen Shiatsu emphasises a gentle yet substantial connection between practitioner and patient, using the deep focus of the hara (body centre) to discover the energetic foundation of illness. Through the precise diagnosis of the Meridian system (the channels carrying our ki or 'life force') the practitioner is able to diagnose a person's condition, follow a pattern of release throughout the body and connect with a powerful network of related practices to further enhance the healing process. 'Food as Medicine', 'Tsubo (Point) Therapy', 'Ki Healing Yoga' and 'Meridian Psychology' are all essentially engaged in a treatment to greatly improve a patient's health and enhance their enjoyment of life.

Ki Yoga

Ki Yoga was derived from the teachings of the Japanese Master, Masahiro Oki, who combined the Indian Hatha Yoga system with the Meridian-based medicines of China and Japan. This invested Oki-do yoga (and hence, Ki yoga) with precise diagnostic techniques, producing a remarkably accurate remedial system of asanas (postures or stretches). The broader wholistic foundation of Ki Yoga has developed further with the work of Jack Marshall through the healing therapies of the East and West; in particular, the psychological potential of yoga as a healing therapy.

Global Community
- Humanitarian and Ecology Work

Over the past 8 years ZRC has served local communities around its Sydney venues through its practices and teachings as well as charity work. As many of the graduates have travelled further afield and with the aid of modern communications we now have a greater opportunity to address the full holistic foundations of the ZRC Charter. In the next few years we hope to take up our global responsibility to the life and spirit of the whole planet through an expansion into environmental, ecological and humanitarian projects that will show in our general teachings and practices, new associations with like organisations and the themes and activities on our Retreats.
